Last week saw the launch of an ambitious new campaign called ENOUGH FOOD FOR EVERYONE IF. The campaign brings together more than 100 organisations, including Save the Children, Oxfam, Christian Aid, Tearfund, UNICEF and many more, with the aim of drawing world attention to the fact that our governments have it in their power to prevent people dying from hunger.
The world produces enough food for everyone, yet hunger kills over 200 children every hour. We can do something about this.
I recently blogged about IF over on my food blog Bangers & Mash – read the post here.
I would now like to pass the baton onto other bloggers around the world to spread the word and help the charity Save the Children achieve its goal of telling a million people about ENOUGH FOOD FOR EVERYONE IF.
IF we want to put an end to global hunger, we need to generate so much noise that our leaders have no choice but to act. Not enough people know that the world produces enough food for everyone. Will help you make some noise about this urgent issue?
We already know bloggers can have a huge impact on campaigns like this. With the help of the blogging community, Save the Children successfully campaigned to get a commitment to fund vaccines. That commitment saved 4 million lives in 4 hours. The power of many people acting together cannot be ignored; IF we want to put an end to global hunger, we need to generate so much noise that our leaders have no choice but to act.
How can you help tell a million?
- Sign the petition
- Follow the IF campaign on Twitter @EnoughFoodIF @savechildrenuk and tweet about the campaign using the hashtags #IF and #tellamillion
- Get involved with the IF campaign on Facebook: www.facebook.com/enoughfoodif www.facebook.com/savechildrenuk
- Watch, share and/or embed Save the Children’s Tell A Million video above – it’s only a minute long!
- Write a blog post about why you support the IF campaign, and share these resources from Save the Children to encourage others to do the same.
Thank you.
